Lecithin1

Order Lecithin 1200 mg

This is soy lecithin in easy-to-swallow softgels. Each 1200 mg soft gel supplies 26 mg Choline (from 180 mg of Phosphatidyl Choline) and 19 mg of Inositol (from 100 mg of Inositol Phosphatides).

What is Lecithin?

Lecithin is an antioxidant. It is a mixture of fatty and fatlike substances and is a byproduct of soybeans. It is produced daily by the liver if one's diet is adequate. It is needed by every cell in the body and is a key building block of cell membranes. Lecithin protects cells from oxidation and largely comprises the protective sheaths surrounding the brain. It is composed mostly of B vitamins, phosphoric acid, choline, linoleic acid and inositol. Although it is a fatty substance, it is also a fat emulsifier (breaks down fat) and therefore, supports the circulatory system. Its choline is useful for making acetylcholine.

Lecithin can be taken when there is difficulty in digesting fat. Some patients find that when they take omega-3 fish oil it repeats on them. Taking lecithin along with the fish oil capsules should alleviate that problem.

Lecithin also helps to prevent arteriosclerosis, improves brain function, protects against cardiovascular disease and aids in the absorption of vitamin A by the intestine and thiamine by the liver. It is needed to help repair damage to the liver caused by alcoholism.
