Ginkgo

Ginkgo Biloba's active compounds improve blood parameters and act as a free radical scavenger to protect cell membranes in the brain and other tissues. They increase the uptake and utilization of oxygen and glucose; help increase the flow of blood to the brain and extremities; regulate neurotransmission to help protect against memory loss, and mood imbalance.1 Our Ginkgo Biloba is standardized to yield 14.4 mg (24%) Ginkgo Flavone Glycosides per capsule.

Each capsule contains 60 mg Ginkgo Biloba Extract (containing 14.4 mg Ginkgo flavone glycosides).
Additional ingredients: gelatin and water.

Why is ginkgo important?

Ginkgo Biloba Extract has antioxidant actions in the brain, retina of the eye, and the cardiovascular system. One double blind study found that it could help people with macular degeneration. Diabetic retinopathy is also improved, according to another double blind study.

Ginkgo Biloba increases circulation to both the brain and extremities of the body. In addition to inhibiting platelet stickiness, it regulates the tone and elasticity of blood vessels. This improvement in circulation efficiency extends to both large vessels (arteries) and smaller vessels (capillaries) in the circulatory system.1

There also is some evidence that its use is a help for people with glaucoma.
